In 1963, Greenore Port became the first port in the Republic of Ireland to handle containerised traffic. Situated just inside the entrance to Carlingford Lough, the port is located next to the important Dublin- Belfast Economic Corridor, which is connected to the M1 motorway by 15km of uncongested roadway. An Bord Pleanala, the Irish planning authority, has deemed Greenore Port one of the country’s critical infrastructure assets.
We handle general cargo, project cargo and a variety of commodities including; animal feed, fertiliser, coal, steel, timber. The port is the main steel port in Ireland, capable of handling over 250,000MT per annum and handles an average of 400,000MT of dry bulk per annum.
Having recently completed an extensive port dredging project to remove over 7000 tonnes of rock from the harbor bed, Greenore Port can accommodate vessels of 55,000DWT, 8M Draft, 200M LOA
Strategically located at Rushbrooke, Cobh it is well serviced by road and rail and also has alongside quay and carnage facilities. Facilities include 75 meters x 20meters machine shop with 20 ton overhead gantry.
An active shipyard and stevedoring facility since 1832, Passage West Dockyard is well located within Cork Harbour and just 6km from the N28/N40 junction on Cork’s ring road.
The berth is dredged to provide 8m of depth at LW. With in excess of 200m of quays, two coaster size vessels can be accommodated simultaneously at the facility.
We handle general cargo including a variety of bulk and break bulk commodities. Warehousing for bulk products is available on site with 45,000 sq.ft. of capacity.
