Burke Shipping Group Lends Support to Clonliffe Karate Club

We are delighted to announce that we have become kit sponsor of JKS Clonliffe Karate Club.

Alan Higgins club trainer presented Glen O’Connor Deputy CEO of Burke Shipping Group with an appreciation palque commenting  “We would like to thank Burke Shipping Group for their sponsorship; their support really does help”.

Glen O’Connor, Deputy CEO of Burke Shipping Group, said, “It’s important for Burke Shipping Group to be able to support clubs in the local area’s where we operate. We are delighted to sponsor tracksuits for Clonliffe Karate Club and encourage new members of the community to join the club, get involved in a new fitness regime and learn a new skill.”

Members  of the club train for fun, self defence, fitness, concentration, co-ordination and confidence and can go on to be JKS instructors, examiners, referees.

The club which opened its doors in April 2004 is run by Alan Higgins with assistance from Kevin Fennelly. Alan achieved his Shodan (first Degree black belt) in 2004, his Nidan (second Degree) in 2006 and Sandan (third Degree) in 2012. Kevin began training with Alan in 2004 at the age of 9 and is currently a Nidan.

 

Clonliffe Shotokan Karate Club is a member of The Japan Karate Shotorenmei (GB & Ireland) which is directly affiliated to the Japan Karate Shotorenmei which means that all Dan grades are registered in Japan. For further information on JKS Clonliffe Karate Club visit http://www.clonliffeshotokankarateclub.com/index.php
